Engineer

As an Engineer on the Wylde Swan, you are the head of the technical department during voyages and/or maintenance periods. You report directly to the duty captain and work closely with the superintendent ashore. You are the expert on all things technical aboard the ship. Your responsibilities include:

• Performing daily maintenance routines and recording them in the Marad administration system.
• Resolving technical faults and malfunctions.
• Reporting operational defects to the duty captain and the superintendent ashore.
• Placing (technical) orders.
• Planning maintenance for upcoming maintenance periods.

• You have relevant technical training or equivalent experience.
• You’re a problem solver with a passion for technical challenges.
• You thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy working in a team.
• You have experience with maritime systems and understand how a ship operates.
• Flexibility and adventure are part of your DNA—this is no standard job!
• A clean criminal record, as we will request a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG).
• Affinity for working with young people and trainees.
